CE certification of PPE must comply with PPE Directive 89 / 686 / EEC
First, introduction to PPE personal protection certification
PPE personal protection is the abbreviation of personal protective equipment in English, which refers to any device or appliance worn or held by an individual to prevent one or more hazards damaging health and safety. The PPE personal protection directive is 89 / 686 / EEC, which is mainly used to protect employees from exposure to chemical radiation, electric equipment, human equipment, mechanical equipment or some dangerous workplaces A serious injury or illness. In addition to face masks, safety glasses and safety shoes, PPE personal protection equipment includes a large number of respiratory protection equipment, protective clothing, including helmets, goggles, hearing protectors (earplugs), safety gloves, safety shoes, respirators and safety belts.
Second, PPE personal protection certification scope
1. Head protection equipment
Head protective equipment is a kind of personal protective equipment used to protect the head from the attack of foreign objects and other factors. According to the requirements of protection function, there are nine kinds of products at present, including common working cap, dust cap, waterproof cap, cold cap, safety cap, static cap, high temperature cap, electromagnetic radiation cap and insect cap.
2. Respiratory organ protective equipment
Respiratory organ protective equipment is a protective equipment to prevent harmful gases, steam, dust, smoke and fog from inhaling through the respiratory tract or supplying oxygen or clearing the air directly to the users, so as to ensure the normal breathing of the operators in the dust, toxic pollution or anoxic environment. Respiratory protective articles are mainly divided into dust mask and gas mask (mask) according to their functions, and can be divided into filter type and isolation type according to their forms.
3. Eye and face protective equipment
Personal protective equipment to prevent smoke, dust particles, metal sparks and flying debris, heat, electromagnetic radiation, laser, chemical splash and other injuries to eyes or face is called eye and face protective equipment. According to the protection function, it can be roughly divided into nine categories: dust-proof, water-proof, mid strike proof, high temperature proof, electromagnetic radiation proof, radiation proof, chemical splash proof, sand proof and strong light proof.
At present, there are three types of production and use in China:
(1) welding goggles and masks. Prevent the harm of non ionizing radiation, metal sparks and smoke. The welding goggles are divided into three types: ordinary glasses, front hanging glasses and side light proof glasses; the welding masks are divided into holding masks, headband masks, safety helmet masks, safety helmet front hanging glasses masks, etc.
(2) furnace goggles and masks. Prevent the harm of infrared ray, a small amount of visible light and ultraviolet ray radiated from the furnace and kiln mouth to human eyes. Furnace goggles and masks are divided into three types: goggles, goggles and masks.
(3) anti impact eye protector. To prevent the impact of iron chips, lime sand, gravel and other foreign objects on the eyes. Anti impact eye protectors are divided into three types: goggles, eye mask and face mask. Protective glasses are divided into ordinary glasses and glasses with side shields. Eye mask and face mask are divided into open type and closed type.
4. Hearing organ protective equipment
Personal protective equipment that can prevent excessive sound energy from invading the external auditory canal, avoid excessive stimulation of noise, reduce hearing damage, and prevent adverse effects of noise on human body. There are three kinds of hearing organ protective equipment: earplugs, earmuffs and noise proof helmets.
5. Hand protective equipment
Gloves with the function of protecting hands and arms, which are worn by operators when they work, are called hand protective equipment, which is usually called labor protective gloves. According to the classification and code standard of labor protection articles, the hand protection articles are divided into 12 categories according to the protection function: general protection gloves, waterproof gloves, anti cold gloves, anti poison gloves, anti-static gloves, anti high temperature gloves, anti X-ray gloves, anti acid and alkali gloves, anti oil gloves, anti shock gloves, anti cutting gloves and insulation gloves.
6. Foot protective equipment
Foot protective equipment is a kind of protective equipment to prevent harmful substances and energy from damaging workers' feet in the process of production. According to the protection function, the national standard can be divided into 13 categories: dust-proof shoes, waterproof shoes, cold proof shoes, impact proof shoes, static proof shoes, high temperature proof shoes, acid-base proof shoes, oil proof shoes, scalding proof shoes, antiskid shoes, puncture proof shoes, electric insulation shoes, shock proof shoes, etc.
7. Torso protective equipment
Body protection is what we usually call protective clothing. According to the protection function, the protective clothing can be divided into general protective clothing, waterproof clothing, cold clothing, anti smashing back clothing, anti poison clothing, flame retardant clothing, anti-static clothing, anti high temperature clothing, anti electromagnetic radiation clothing, acid and alkali resistant clothing, anti oil clothing, water life jackets, anti insects, wind sand and other 14 kinds of products.
8. Skin care products
Skin care products are used to prevent skin (mainly exposed parts such as face and hands) from being harmed by chemical and physical factors. According to the protection function, skin care products are divided into anti-virus, anti radiation, anti paint and other categories.
9. Anti falling articles
Anti falling articles are used to prevent the human body from falling from a high place. Through the rope, the body of the high place operator is tied to a fixed object, or a net is opened under the edge of the workplace to prevent accidental falling. There are two kinds of such articles: safety belt and safety net.
Third, PPE personal protection certification notice
1. Products involved in CE certification of PPE personal protection directive
(1) for some types of PPE with simple design, when the designer thinks that the user can evaluate the protection level to prevent their lowest risk, the EC type test may not be required. This minimum risk refers to those risks whose functions are gradual and can be detected by users in a timely and safe manner. Such PPE shall be limited to those intended to protect the wearer against the following:
A. mechanical action on the epidermis (gardening gloves, thimbles, etc.);
B. cleaning materials with small effect and easy to remove (gloves for anti dilution detergent solution, etc.);
C. danger encountered in the treatment of hot workpieces, which will not put the user at a temperature above 50 ℃ or make the user suffer from dangerous collision (such as some professional gloves, apron, etc.);
D. It is used for protection under neither special nor extremely harsh atmospheric environment (helmet, seasonal clothing, shoes and socks, etc.);
E. minor collision and vibration (light helmet, gloves, light shoes and socks, etc.) that will not damage the fatal parts of the body and cause irreparable damage;
F. sunlight (sunglasses).
(2) PPE with complex design and designed to prevent fatal hazards or hazards that may cause serious and irreparable harm to health, the designer estimates that the user has no time to detect the instantaneous effect of such hazards, in which case, at the manufacturer's option, one of the two procedures described in Article 11 shall be adopted. Such PPE shall be limited to:
A. filter breathing device used to protect solid or liquid aerosol or irritating, dangerous, toxic or radiation toxic gas;
B. respiratory protective devices for complete isolation from the atmosphere, including respiratory protective devices for diving;
C. PPE with limited protection against chemical corrosion or ionizing radiation;
D. first aid equipment used in high-temperature environment with action equivalent to air temperature over 100 ℃ and possibly characterized by infrared radiation, flame or a large amount of sprayed molten material;
E. first aid equipment used in low temperature environment with the effect of - 50 ℃;
F. PPE for preventing falling from height;
G. PPE for protection against electric shock and voltage hazards or for insulation in high voltage operation.
2. Products not applicable to CE certification of PPE personal protection directive
