First, introduction to ROHS certification
RoHS is the English abbreviation of the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. At present, it mainly limits six harmful substances in electronic and electrical equipment: Aluminum Pb, cadmium Cd, mercury Hg, hexavalent chromium Cr6 +, PBBs and PBDEs.
The directive was proposed by the European Parliament and the Council of directors, and was enforced by EU Member States from July 1, 2006. Electronic and electrical products containing harmful heavy metals and using PBBs and PBDEs as flame retardants are prohibited from entering the EU market.
Generally speaking, ROHS requires a one-year validity period, mainly because some international well-known enterprises require the report to be valid for one year or half a year when purchasing products, or some Korean companies require three months to be valid, and some companies even require testing only for each batch of goods. Why do they do this? It is to continuously monitor the stability of suppliers' products, which depends on the buyer's requirements. But once you find that your product has changed, such as production process change, production process change or supplier change, it means that it needs to be re tested. These are the ways for enterprises to protect themselves. At present, the validity period of general enterprises is required to be one year; in fact, the ROHS test report itself is only based on the analysis of products. As long as the product material, production process and process remain unchanged, the test report can be valid for a long time.

The maximum allowable content (threshold) of RoHS directive for six hazardous substances: cadmium Cd: 100ppm; lead Pb, mercury Hg, hexavalent chromium Cr6 +, PBB, PBDE: 1000ppm.
The original Directive 2002 / 95 / EC was implemented on July 1, 2006, covering eight categories of electronic and electrical equipment (EEE) with DC power of 1500 V and AC power of less than 1000 V. the directive stipulates the EEE to be put on the market. The new RoHS 2.0 directive 2011 / 65 / EU came into effect on July 21, 2011, and was formally implemented on January 3, 2013. The original 2002 / 95 / EC was abolished on the same day, and was included in the CE marking requirements. It became one of the EU CE marking directives, except that electronic and electrical products must meet the requirements of (LVD), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), energy source related products (ERP) and rohs2.0, before CE marking can be pasted and compliance sound can be issued In addition, rohs2.0 requires manufacturers to provide supporting technical documents and keep them for ten years.
The scope of products under control was expanded to include class 8 medical equipment, class 9 monitoring equipment and class 11 other electronic and electrical equipment. RoHS 2.0 sets a control transition period for relevant products in order to give new producers of RoHS 2.0 controlled products sufficient time to meet the requirements of the directive.
