GS authentication

GS means German 'geprufte Sicherheit' (safety certified) and German safety (German safety). GS certification is a voluntary certification based on the German product safety law (GPGs) and tested according to the European Union unified standard EN or German industrial standard DIN. It is recognized as the German safety certification mark in the European market.

sign

1. GS mark is a safety certification mark issued by TUV, VDE and other institutions authorized by the German Ministry of labor.

GS sign is a safety sign accepted by customers in Europe. Generally, GS certified products sell at a higher unit price and are more popular.

2. EC CE regulation, 1997.1.1. Regulation of "Low Voltage Directive (LVD)". The GS already contains all the requirements of the low voltage directive (LVD). Therefore, TUV will issue CE certificate (COC) of LVD of the product for free after obtaining GS mark. TUV South Germany group and TUV Rheinland certificate after 97 years include LVD Certificate in GS certificate. The manufacturer applied for GS and obtained LVD certificate at the same time.

3. Requirements of GS certification for products and documents: - products shall pass type test of European safety standard. -The product structure shall meet the standard requirements -The instructions (in German and English) shall meet the standards -According to English documents such as structural drawing, circuit diagram and parts list prepared as required by TUV, product test will be carried out according to the parameters provided by these documents.

4. GS certification has strict requirements on the quality assurance system of the factory, and the factory shall be reviewed and inspected annually: - the factory is required to establish its own quality assurance system according to ISO9000 system standard when delivering goods in batches. The factory shall at least have its own quality control system, quality records and other documents and sufficient production and inspection capacity. -Before the GS certificate is issued, the new factory shall be reviewed and qualified before the GS certificate is issued. -After issuing the certificate, the factory shall be reviewed at least once a year. No matter how many GS marks of products are applied for by the factory, only one factory review is required.

Introduction to GS certification in Germany

GS means German 'geprufte Sicherheit' (safety certified) and German safety (German safety). GS certification is a kind of voluntary certification based on German product safety law (SGS) and tested according to European Union unified standard EN or German industrial standard DIN. It is recognized as German safety certification mark in European market.

The GS certification mark indicates that the use safety of the product has passed the test of an independent organization with credibility. GS certification mark, although not mandatory by law, can make manufacturers subject to strict German (European) product safety law in case of accidents caused by product failure. Therefore, GS certification mark is a powerful market tool, which can enhance customers' confidence and purchase desire. Although GS is a German standard, most countries in Europe agree. At the same time of GS certification, the products will also meet the CE mark requirements of the European community. Unlike CE, GS certification mark has no legal requirements, but because safety awareness has penetrated into ordinary consumers, an electrical appliance with GS certification mark may be more competitive in the market than ordinary products.

Products that can apply for GS certification:

Household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, kitchenware, etc.

Household machinery.

Sporting goods.

Household electronic equipment, such as audio-visual equipment.

Electrical and electronic office equipment, such as copiers, fax machines, shredders, computers, printers, etc.

Industrial machinery, experimental measuring equipment.

Other safety related products such as bicycles, helmets, ladders, furniture, etc.

The standards used for GS certification are the corresponding en safety standards of the European Union.

GS certification is more strict than the low voltage safety certification (LVD certification) of CE certification, with factory inspection and annual inspection, while CE-LVD does not need factory inspection and annual inspection.

Who can issue GS certificate?

(1) German certification body: generally, TUV rheinnland, TUV product services, VDE, etc. are well-known GS certification bodies in Germany, which are directly recognized by Germany.

(2) other certification bodies: generally, Kema, its, Nemko, demko, etc. are other GS certification bodies cooperating with Germany in Europe.

Technological process

1) first meeting: through the first meeting, the testing agency or agency will explain the specific certification procedures and relevant standards to the applicant's product engineer, and provide the required document forms.

2) application: the applicant shall submit the documents that meet the requirements. For electrical products, it is necessary to submit the general assembly drawing, electrical schematic diagram, material list, product use or installation instructions, difference between series models and other documents.

3) technical meeting: after the testing agency has checked the applicant's documents, it will arrange a technical meeting with the applicant's technical personnel.

4) sample test: the test will be carried out in accordance with the applicable standards, and can be carried out in the laboratory of the manufacturer or any laboratory of the inspection agency in each country.

5) factory inspection: GS certification requires the inspection of safety related procedures on the production site.

6) issue GS certificate.

Effect

The GS mark indicates that the use safety of the product has passed the test of independent organization of credibility. GS logo, although not mandatory by law, can make manufacturers subject to strict German (European) product safety law in case of accidents caused by product failure. So GS logo is a powerful market tool, which can enhance customers' confidence and purchase desire. Although GS is a German standard, most countries in Europe agree. At the same time of GS certification, the products will also meet the CE mark requirements of the European community. Unlike CE, GS logo has no legal requirements, but because safety awareness has penetrated into ordinary consumers, an electrical appliance with GS logo may have greater competitiveness in the market than ordinary products.

advantage

1. GS, as a sign of product safety and quality reliability, has been more widely recognized by German and EU consumers;

2. Minimize the manufacturer's responsibility risk in product quality;

3. Enhance the manufacturer's confidence in product quality, safety and compliance with legal requirements;

4. Emphasize to consumers the obligations of manufacturers for product quality and safety;

5. The manufacturer can ensure to the end user that the products with GS logo have passed the test of the third-party testing agency;

6. In many cases, the quality and safety of products with GS logo exceed the degree required by law;

7. GS mark can obtain higher recognition than CE mark, because GS certificate is issued by a qualified third-party testing agency.

relationship

EC CE regulation, 1997.1.1. Regulation 'Low Voltage Directive (LVD)'.
