The toy products conforming to EN71 directive 88 / 378 / EEC can enter the European market

First, introduction to EN71 toy certification

EN71 certification is the standard of EU market for toy products. Its significance is to standardize the toy products entering the European market through EN71 standard, so as to reduce or avoid the harm of toys to children. EN71 toys directive toys directive is applicable to any product or material designed for or intended for play by children under 14 years old. If it is electrified, the power supply shall not exceed 24 v.

Any toy products sold to Europe must pass the strict test of EN71 standard. The most commonly used is torque & tension, drop test, impact test, compression test. EN71 is the standard for toys in EU market. The European Commission officially published the new toy safety coordination standard en71-1:2011 in ojeu on June 18, 2011. The new harmonized standard is established in accordance with the new toy safety directive 2009 / 48 / EC (effective date: July 20, 2011). According to the requirements of the new toy safety directive, all toys put into the EU market after July 20, 2011 must comply with the new harmonized toy standard en71-1:2011.

If the toy products are legally sold in the EU, they must meet the requirements of toy directive 88 / 378 / EEC and be marked with CE mark. According to different toy product categories, age groups are divided into:

 EN71-9 General requirements for organic compounds: Specifies the total migration of toxic compounds present in each toy or toy material in the following ways of exposure: contact with mouth; ingestion possibility; skin contact; eye contact; inhalation. Products within the scope of the standard include toys designed for children under 3 years old (because these toys may be chewed by children in their mouths), and products designed for older children (these products may contact children's mouth, skin or be inhaled by children)
